Pictures always help! Finding pictures without filters is ideal 🥴 Tones can be skewed and it can create unrealistic expectations. If you love my work and something catches your eye on my IG, feel free to use that 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2nd: hair history 📖 I’m talking for for the last few years. If a permanent or boxed color was used a year ago, unless you cut it off, it’s still in your hair - whether or not it faded. This can alter how you lift immensely. •Have you used boxed color or bleach in the last 3 years? •Have you used permanent color in the last 3 years? This one is a tough one sometimes because some stylists don’t disclose whether they use a permanent or a Demi - which is fine! I can typically tell - especially if it’s been a while and that color is still in your hair. • what do you typically get done when visiting a hair salon? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3rd: lifestyle •How often do you wash your hair? •Do you put your hair up a lot? This helps me create a game plan on placement when creating dimension. What products do you use? (shampoo, conditioners, styling) How often do you use a hair mask? In all honesty, I expect my clients to use a hair mask once a week. It’s so important especially if you are looking to get your hair done often & keep up with it! •Do you have hard water at home? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Once we understand ⬆️ this, I can decide whether or not I’ll be a buzzkill 🥴😂 What I mean is, you hair goals just might not happen immediately. Just like with this client, our ultimate goal for her first first was to create blend, brightness and consistency. KEEP IN MIND: Depending on what any guest has going on previously or with their lifestyle, that might alter the fading process, too. Be patient! We got this ♥️

From our Stylist Alyssa ❤️ Let’s talk about healthy hair for a second. During the winter months our hair and skin can get pretty dry. We can literally feel our skin being dry so it’s easy to moisturize a little extra during the cold months. You can’t always tell when your hair needs that extra bit of moisture sometimes until it’s too late. You should be 1) Using a good hydrating shampoo and conditioner 1-2 times a week 2) Using a good hydrating oil on your ends 3) Doing some at home or in-salon deep conditioning treatments atleast every color appointment to prevent your hair from drying and splitting. I LOVE Kevin Murphy‘s hydrate me line. Literally within one wash my hair feels smoother and shinier 😍 the hydrate me masque is also one of my favorite at-home treatments to suggest for clients.
